NITAMA CAT MASTER K1Kishi Station Master (Wakayama Prefecture, Japan) is Tama, a calico cat. Wakayama Electric Railway promoted Tama as a Station Master on January 5th 2007. Tama is the first cat in private railway companies who became a Station Cat. Exactly on the fifth anniversary as a Station Master, Tama was given an assistant. A calico named Nitama. Tama career’s dashed because she can make the number of foreign tourists who come to Wakayama doubled.  In 2014, traveler number in 14 stations at Kishigawa Line increased more than 240%.

Travelers who come to Kishi Station aren’t just coming to see Tama, but also happy to ride Tama Train. This train are favored by the visitors, especially the children’s because the design, attractive both of interior and exterior. All corner is full by cat theme like sofa, wall neither ceiling of the train. There is a cat cage made from wood inside the train, and a library filled with children’s books and manga.

Kepala Stasiun

Kepala Stasiun Kishi, Prefektur Wakayama, Jepang adalah Tama, seekor kucing betina. Wakayama Electric Railway mengangkat Tama sebagai kepala stasiun pada 5 Januari 2007. Tama adalah kucing pertama di dunia yang menjadi kepala stasiun. Tepat di ulang tahun kelima sebagai kepala stasiun, Tama diberi asisten. Seekor kucing betina bernama Nitama. Karir Tama melesat karena mampu melipatgandakan jumlah turis asing yang berkunjung ke Wakayama. Tahun 2014, jumlah pelancong di 14 stasiun di Kishigawa Line naik lebih dari 240%.

Pelancong yang datang ke Stasiun Kishi bukan sekedar ingin melihat Tama, tetapi juga senang naik Tama Densha. Kereta api ini digemari pengunjung, terutama anak-anak karena desain, baik eksterior maupun interior yang menarik.  Semua bertemakan kucing baik sofa, dinding mapun langit-langit kereta. Di dalam kereta terdapat kandang kucing dari kayu serta perpustakaan yang berisi buku anak-anak serta manga.
